They often push back or completely ignore me until I’ve asked 3+ times.

Some mornings are smooth. Other mornings it’s a total battle.

They don’t act out much, but they seem distracted, clingy, or zoned out.

They respond fairly well — and I know their cues now. I just want to keep deepening that connection.

2: When your child is melting down or having big emotions, what do you notice in yourself?

I freeze or go blank. I don’t really respond — I just shut down.

I start off calm, but then I lose it halfway through.

I can usually stay grounded — but I’m always looking to handle it with more calm, connection, and confidence.

I feel overwhelmed and usually snap, yell, or shut the situation down fast.

3: How would you describe the general “vibe” in your home?

Pretty peaceful and connected — but I know there’s always more to learn, especially about my child’s inner world

Loud, chaotic, and unpredictable. Everyone’s on edge.

Quiet, but disconnected. There’s not much emotional spark or joy.

It changes daily. Some days are light, others feel like a pressure cooker.

4: What does your body feel like most days?

Tense, tight chest, wired but tired. Like I’m constantly bracing.

Sometimes energised, sometimes like I’ve been hit by a truck.

Numb, flat, foggy, or like I could cry at any moment but can’t.

Mostly balanced — I’ve done a lot of work on myself, and I’m ready to go deeper.

5: How do you tend to respond when your kids start fighting or arguing?

I usually manage it well, but I want even more tools to support both them and myself through those moments.

I try to talk them through it calmly but then eventually lose it.

I avoid it or disconnect — it feels too draining to handle.

I jump in fast, usually yelling or demanding it stops.

6: How often do you feel like the mum you want to be?

Rarely. I’m mostly reacting or just getting through the day.

Sometimes! But I can’t hold onto it consistently.

I barely feel like myself, let alone the mum I imagined I’d be.

Often — and I’m still learning, still evolving. I know growth is ongoing.

7: When things go wrong — like a messy dinner, tantrum, or unexpected stress — what’s your go-to inner voice?

“I just want to hide. I can’t deal with anything right now.”

“Why is it always like this? I can’t take one more thing.”

“I was doing okay, now I’ve ruined it again.”

“Okay, I handled that. But how can I handle it even better next time?”

8: Despite everything, what’s one thing you know about yourself as a mum?

I haven’t felt like myself in a while… but I know she’s still in there.

I’m growing. I’m not where I want to be, but I’m not who I was either.

I care so deeply — that’s why I get so frustrated

I’m grounded, evolving, and committed to becoming even more emotionally attuned — for me and my family.
